Privacy policy
Last updated: August 30, 2026
StudySoul asks you to paste your own study notes, so this page is deliberately short and specific: what we store, what we never do with it, and how to take it back.
- Your notes have one job: generating your missions. They are never sold, never shared for advertising, and never used to train AI models.
- You hold the keys: export everything or permanently delete your account, each in one click from Settings, no email required.
- No trackers: no ad pixels, no analytics scripts, no marketing cookies. The only cookies are the ones that keep you signed in.
What we store
Everything below lives in your account and nowhere else:
- Account details. Your name and email address. Passwords are handled by Supabase, our authentication provider; we never see them. If you sign in with Google, we receive only your name and email.
- Study material. The notes you paste, the goals you type, and the files you upload (PDFs, photos, text). This is the material your missions are built from.
- Generated content. The missions, plans, quick checks, and chapter reports the AI creates for you.
- Progress. Which missions you finished and when, your XP, streaks, and the answers you give to quizzes and written checks.
- Preferences. Your timezone, reminder settings, and (only if you turn reminders on) a push notification subscription for your browser.
How the AI part works
When you create a chapter, your material is sent to Claude, the AI model built by Anthropic, to be read and turned into missions. That happens over Anthropic's commercial API, and Anthropic does not use data sent through that API to train its models. Your notes go in, your missions come out, and that is the whole transaction.
What we never do
- We never sell your data or share it with advertisers. There are no ads.
- We never use your notes or answers to train AI models, ours or anyone else's.
- We never read your notes ourselves except when you ask us to look at a problem.
- We run no analytics or tracking scripts on any page.
Where your data lives
StudySoul runs on three services, each holding only what its job requires: Supabase (accounts and database), Vercel (app hosting), and Anthropic (AI processing, described above). Like almost every website, our host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) for a short period for security and reliability.
Your controls
- Export. Settings → Export downloads everything we hold about you as a single file, instantly.
- Delete. Settings → Delete account permanently erases your account and every note, mission, answer, and stat attached to it, immediately. There is no grace period copy kept around.
- Reminders. Push reminders are off by default and can be switched off any time in Settings or in your browser.
Both controls work without contacting anyone, which we think is how data rights should work.
How long we keep it
For as long as you keep your account, so your progress is there when you come back. Delete the account and the data goes with it, right away.
Children
StudySoul is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, delete it from Settings or ask us to.
A note on other people's data
Paste your own study material. Please don't upload documents containing other people's personal information; StudySoul doesn't need it to help you study.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
Contact
StudySoul is built by a tiny independent team, and a dedicated support inbox arrives with our public launch. Until then, every right on this page (export, deletion, reminders) works self service from your dashboard, instantly, with nobody in the loop.
